Digital game based learning

This is some rough footage from my 2nd session of Minecraft english. What I’m really excited about is how the students willingly spoke english when playing together. The assignment was that each group had to build a settlement, and they could only speak english.

This was also the first test of the minecraftedu software, which made it really easy for me as a newbie teacher to bring minecraft into the classroom. There was some instability at first but toward the end of the lesson we managed to troubleshoot our way out.

The lesson left me with many issues to consider for the next lesson, among other things that I need to play a more active role in getting students to collaborate in building.
